Pakistan International Airline is fully prepared to resume its flights to neighboring country Afghanistan after Taliban take over the control, CEO of the national carrier stated on Friday, The Express Tribune reported.
While talking to journalists, Arshad Malik said that PIA in prepared for flight operations to Kabul but highlighted that one of the hurdles to restarting regular flights to the Afghan capital was the demand for war insurance.
“The Kabul airport has security and radar challenges as well,” he said that.
Added that he took these challenges to Afghan officials in a recently held meeting and expects to resolve these challenges at the end of this month.
Last month, the national carrier suspended flights to Kabul over Taliban authorities’ “unprofessional attitude”.
“Our flights frequently faced undue delays because of the unprofessional attitude of the Kabul aviation authorities,” Abdullah Hafeez Khan, the PIA spokesman told AFP.
The route will remain suspended until “the situation becomes conducive,” he added.
