Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday asserted the need to decisively eliminate “Fitna al-Khawarij,” referencing the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which has been linked to numerous attacks on security forces and civilians.
Speaking at the Central Apex Committee meeting on the National Action Plan (NAP), the prime minister called on provincial and federal authorities, along with key institutions, to craft a comprehensive strategy to combat terrorism and ensure lasting peace across the country.

The meeting, convened to review Pakistan’s security situation, was attended by civil and military leadership.
Highlighting recent cross-border attacks, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, PM Shehbaz commended the robust response by security forces. He emphasized the presence of infiltrators and the ongoing threats posed by enemies harboring malicious intentions.
The prime minister also expressed concern over both external and internal campaigns aimed at destabilizing Pakistan. He cautioned against individuals abroad posing as allies while engaging in anti-Pakistan propaganda.
PM Shehbaz further underscored the dangers of “digital terrorism,” where misinformation and distorted facts are propagated on social media to mislead the public. He called for proactive measures to counter such threats effectively.
