The Prime Minister said “The government wants to develop new tourist resorts in hilly areas to promote tourism in the country,”
To that end, reputable private investors in tourism and hospitality are being drawn to the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model,” he added.
The Prime Minister directed the relevant federal and provincial authorities to take all necessary steps to fully facilitate private investors in this regard.
He also directed the KP government to take over the entire project from ERRA and turn it into a tourist resort. In order to ensure food security in the region, the Prime Minister also directed that irrigated land be excluded from the project.
The KP government has already purchased land for this purpose. The tourist resort, which will be built through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP), will include a youth hostel, theme park, camping grounds, and a 3-star hotel.
When completed, the project will not only relieve pressure on already overcrowded tourist destinations, but it will also generate more than Rs. 7 billion in revenue sharing with the government.
