Minister for Finance Shaukat Tarin said that the previous government of Pakistan Muslims League Nawaz (PML-N) kept the dollar at RS. 94 artificially, which cost Pakistan $60 Billion.
The Minister said that the state Bank would not be completely independent. The perception of the Central Bank going under the IMF is completely wrong.
Speaking at a meeting of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Finance yesterday, Finance Minister and Senator Shaukat Tarin said that the PML-N had artificially stopped the dollar at the RS 94 and caused a loss of $60 billion.
