Prime Minister Imran Khan directed the remodeling of all five shelters in Islamabad in three months.
Yesterday, the Prime Minister visited the Model Shelter in Tarlai and inquired from the residents about the facilities and sat down to eat with them.
Dr. Sania Nishtar, Head of Ehsas Program, and Aun Abbas, MD Bait-ul-Mal, gave a briefing on the occasion.
The Prime Minister said that taking care of the weaker sections is not a favor but the identity of civilized societies. There was a fear that gradually, we would not show weakness towards the poor, as government hospitals have separate wards for the rich and the poor.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that people are lying on the streets in winter. The standard model shelters will be applied to the rest of the country’s shelters, and CCTV cameras will be installed in the model shelters.
The Prime Minister said that it was the responsibility of the government to give respect and dignity to the poor as well as quality. This will automatically create a spirit of benevolence in the benefactors.
