The Punjab administration has made it mandatory in schools across the province to recite Durood Sharif during assembly hours.
On the orders of province Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, the Punjab chief secretary issued a circular on Tuesday informing schools of the decision.
“During assemblies in schools, verses from the Holy Quran and Durood Sharif (Durood-e-Ibrahimi) will be recited before the national anthem,” read the circular.
The circular emphasized the importance and advantages of Durood Sharif, quoting CM Buzdar as saying that by reading Durood Sharif during assembly hours in schools, the future generation will be blessed with its virtues and blessings as well.
“It is an honor for every Muslim to present Durood Sharif in the service of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It also attracts Allah’s (SWT) blessings,” said the CM.
On April 15, Prime Minister Imran Khan had launched Rehmatul-Lil Alameen (SAWW) scholarship program in Islamabad.
