Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that Pakistan cannot achieve real peace unless Afghans have peace and tranquillity. In an article in the Washington Post, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Pakistan and Afghanistan are linked by geography, culture, and relations. Unless Afghans have peace and tranquillity, Pakistan cannot achieve real peace. It would be unwise to withdraw foreign troops from Afghanistan.
The Prime Minister said that US President Trump sought the help of Pakistan for a political solution in Afghanistan in 2018. Pakistan is providing all possible help for a political solution in Afghanistan. The path we have taken for peace in Afghanistan was not easy, caring for 4 million Afghan refugees, arms and drugs came to Pakistan from the Afghan war.
Imran Khan said that peace is possible in Afghanistan, there is a golden opportunity of hope for Afghanistan and the region at the moment. The Afghan war is nearing an end as a result of the Doha talks, the round of inter-Afghan talks may be more difficult for which an atmosphere of tolerance and understanding. What is needed is lasting peace only with the leadership of Afghanistan and the participation of Afghans. Peace and stability in Afghanistan cannot be imposed from outside through force.
