According to the popular travel service app “Wego,” Saudi Arabia has emerged as the top destination for Pakistani travelers, with arrivals increasing by over 100% annually.
Reports from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region highlight Saudi Arabia’s rapidly growing tourism sector. Major projects like NEOM on the Red Sea and the Red Sea Project are driving ecotourism and environmental tourism, setting new global standards.
As part of Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia is actively working to expand its tourism industry. It remains a preferred destination for thousands of Pakistanis each year, particularly for religious visits, especially during Ramadan, when they travel to Makkah and Madinah.
Recently, Wego introduced its “Book on Wego” online travel agent platform for Pakistani users. The app facilitates direct bookings for flights and hotels. Saudi Arabia has become a popular travel destination among Pakistanis, with an annual increase in traveler numbers exceeding 100%.
Parallel to Pakistan Travel Mart (PTM 2025), Wego is actively engaged, participating as a significant player in Karachi and partnering with the Saudi Tourism Authority for this year’s event.

“Wego” ensures Pakistani travelers can easily meet their travel needs through its app, website, and other platforms. The company emphasizes providing a seamless and convenient booking experience tailored to Pakistani travelers’ requirements.
Dean Wicks, CEO of Wego, noted, “We’ve seen an annual increase of over 120% in searches for domestic flights on Wego, while Saudi Arabia remains prominent among international destinations, with annual increases of over 100% for Pakistani travelers.”
He further mentioned their success in obtaining a travel agency license from Pakistan’s Department of Tourism Services.
During PTM 2025, “Wego” will showcase its award-winning marketplace, highlighting the benefits of booking through its platform. The app offers exclusive travel services for the Pakistani market, featuring budget airlines, renowned hotel chains, and local accommodations.
Travelers booking international flights through “Book on Wego” are offered 1GB of free data and a free eSIM.
“Wego” emphasizes giving travelers more choices and convenience, enabling them to compare prices and options from a vast network of local and global suppliers, revolutionizing the travel booking experience.
According to Saudi authorities, there are over 2.5 million Pakistani residents in the Kingdom. Besides fulfilling religious obligations, many Pakistanis travel to Saudi Arabia for tourism and business purposes.
