Cristiano Ronaldo has finally addressed the ongoing ‘GOAT’ debate with his Argentine rival, Lionel Messi, in a lighthearted and reflective manner.
In a recent YouTube video on his channel, UR Cristiano, Ronaldo participated in a penalty shootout with popular YouTuber MrBeast. Dressed in Al-Nassr jerseys, MrBeast and his friends took turns as goalkeepers while Ronaldo attempted to score.
During the challenge, MrBeast joked, “Nolan says he doesn’t like you, he thinks you’re not the GOAT… he thinks Messi’s better!” Ronaldo laughed and responded playfully, “Who said Messi’s better than me?”
In a separate press conference, the Portuguese superstar offered a more serious perspective on the debate with Messi. “It is no longer important to me whether I am the best or not. I don’t care about that anymore. What matters is helping my team win,” Ronaldo said.
“I’m used to breaking records, but I no longer focus on them. My priority now is to enjoy the game and support Al Nassr and my teammates,” he added.
Currently, Ronaldo leads Messi by 58 career goals, with a tally of 900 compared to Messi’s 842. Brazilian legend Pelé holds the third spot with 765 goals.
Ronaldo also revealed his ambitious goal of reaching 1,000 career goals during a conversation with his former Manchester United teammate, Rio Ferdinand.
