Russia has instructed its citizens to remove their photos and videos from Instagram, saying the service would be shut down tonight.
According to foreign media reports, Instagram users in Russia are being instructed to save the videos and photos on their accounts.
The announcement by Moscow comes as Instagram’s parent company Meta said last week that it would allow its Ukrainian users to share anti-Russian messages.
In this regard, the Russian state communications regulator issued a message to Instagram users in their country, asking them to save their videos and photos from Instagram, because the service will be closed tonight.
The message asked Russians to switch to the rival Russian platform Instagram.
On the other hand, the head of Instagram has said that 80 million users of the platform will be affected after this move by Russia.
