In order to further expand the entertainment sector in Saudi Arabia, 20 more cinemas will be opened in small cities after the big cities of kingdom.
Film fans in Saudi Arabia say August 2020 has been a month of unique joy, with three cinemas opening for the first time in Hafar Al-Batin, Jubail and Al-Ahsa, and two more in the capital, Riyadh.
So far, 20 cinemas have opened in Saudi Arabia. In Jeddah, Dammam, Al-Khabar, Tabuk and Jizan, Saudi citizens and expatriates are visiting foreign cinemas to watch movies.
Cinemas are being set up in Saudi Arabia as part of a program to improve living standards. Saudi and international companies are showing interest in cinemas in the kingdom.
Their aim is to provide new opportunities for entertainment in the country and to promote the domestic film industry.
The new cinemas in Hafar Al-Batin and Riyadh have been opened by the American company AMC, while in Al-Ahsa and Al-Jubail, the Mofi Cinema Company has opened.
