New Zealand beat the national team by 176 runs in a Test match in Christchurch to sweep the series clean. Captain Babar Azam was also ruled out of the second Test due to a thumb injury which led to wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan leading the team.

National team captain Mohammad Rizwan has claimed responsibility for the defeat, saying that 20 wickets are needed to win a Test match and the role of fielding is very important but we did not play well in all fields, this series is a great lesson for us.

In the Christchurch Test, the Pakistani team scored 297 runs in the first innings. In which Azhar Ali scored 93, captain Mohammad Rizwan 61, and Faheem Ashraf 48 while other batsmen like Shan Masood 0 Abid Ali 25, Haris Sohail score 1, and Fawad Alam managed only 2 runs.
