Punjab police arrested a shop owner in Khanewal for secretly recording inappropriate videos of female customers in a fitting room, News Sources reported on Saturday.

The accused, identified as Moon Raza, owns a women’s clothing store and was found to have drilled a hole in the fitting room to covertly film customers. Authorities recovered over 100 such videos from his mobile phone.

During interrogation, Raza admitted to filming women for six months and using the footage to blackmail victims. A case has been registered against him, and further investigations are underway.

In a separate incident, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) dismantled a blackmailing ring involved in producing and distributing compromising videos of women to extort money. The key suspect, Zainul Abideen Shah, was arrested at a private hotel in Karachi.

According to reports, Shah, a social media worker, threatened a couple with releasing private videos unless a ransom was paid. Investigations revealed the group, which included self-proclaimed journalists and fake newspaper operators, had engaged in exploiting victims for monetary gain.

Tariq Lashari, FIA’s lead investigator, stated that Shah previously blackmailed a woman by stealing personal photos from her phone left for repair. He threatened to leak the images online if his demands were not met. The group had also targeted a female doctor in a similar manner, prompting swift action from FIA’s cybercrime unit.

Multiple mobile phones containing incriminating evidence, including shared photos, were seized during the operation. This crackdown underscores ongoing efforts to combat cybercrime and safeguard individuals from exploitation.
