The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Justice, in a meeting chaired by Chairman Riaz Fatyana, passed a bill for six months leave for mother and father on the birth of a child. The law will apply to all government and non-government institutions in Islamabad.
Presenting the leave bill, Shazia Murree said that on the birth of the first child, the mother would get six months and the father will get one month’s leave.
Furthermore, committee member Shazia Murree said that on the third birth the mother would get three months and the father one month leave. However, the father will get leave till the birth of 3 children.
