David Warner Joins PSL 10 Draft

Former Australian opening batsman David Warner has officially signed up for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10 draft, becoming the 23rd foreign player to register for the event.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and PSL’s official social media announced the news, stating, “ENDING 2024 ON A HIGH. The Aussie powerhouse David Warner has registered for the PSL Draft.”

Warner joins fellow Australian players Usman Khawaja, Matthew Short, Sean Abbott, Alex Carey, and several other international stars in the draft pool.

Warner’s Stellar International Career

David Warner has had an impressive international career, playing 112 Test matches and 161 ODIs, where he scored 8,786 and 6,932 runs, respectively. In T20 Internationals, the left-handed batter accumulated 3,277 runs, including one century and 28 half-centuries, across 110 matches.

Recent Performances

Currently captaining the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League, Warner delivered a standout performance in their recent match against the Melbourne Renegades. He was named Player of the Match after scoring 86 off 57 balls, hitting 10 fours and two sixes.

PSL 10 Draft Details

The PCB announced that the PSL 10 player draft will take place in Gwadar, Balochistan, on January 11, 2025. The registration and trade window for foreign players opened earlier this month.

As per the pick order revealed on Monday:

  • Lahore Qalandars will have the first pick in the platinum category, followed by Karachi Kings.
  • Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi will make the third and fourth picks, respectively.
  • Multan Sultans will select fifth, while Islamabad United will make the final pick in the platinum category.

The PSL 10 draft is shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet, with top international players like Warner adding to the anticipation.
