Victa, a British naval and military shipbuilding company, has developed a boat called the “Sub Sea Craft”, which is special in that it is stealthy and can be submerged in just a few minutes. To keep it strong and light, carbon fiber, as well as special Diab foam, has been used. It has a seating capacity of 8 people.
In addition to the six divers, there is a pilot and a navigator. According to experts, it is 39.2 feet long and 7.5 feet wide. As a boat, it uses its 725 horsepower diesel engine to reach 74 miles per hour. It can travel at a maximum speed, with an average speed of 56 kilometers per hour. The company says that once fully refueled, it can cover a distance of 463 kilometers.
When it has to build a submarine from a boat, a special system starts filling it with water, after which two minutes later it starts sinking into the water like a submarine. For this, all the people in the craft are already there. Divers wear masks and clothing, in which the breathing system is connected to the “open-air circuit system” on the boat. This waterproof system is not affected by water even after going deep and in the submarine. It can continue to supply oxygen to all people present for up to 4 hours.
After being converted into a submarine, the boat uses the six electrical thrusters that propel it underwater at an average speed of 11 kilometers per hour to 15 kilometers per hour. Gain energy and keep the sub-craft underwater for at least 2 hours once fully charged, during which it can cover a distance of 46 km. Currently, it has been tested in ponds. It will be tested on the high seas in 2021.
