A recent survey revealed that a large population would leave their country of birth for a country with more opportunities and a better lifestyle if given the chance.

The survey found that 42 percent of Balochistan residents want to leave Pakistan, the highest among the four provinces followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Sindh.

The study found that living with dignity was the second major reason for Pakistanis wanting to leave.

People from Sindh are more anxious to leave for security, followed by Balochistan and Kashmir.

According to the Pakistan Bureau of Immigration and Overseas Employment, from 1971 to June 2020, more than 11.2 million Pakistanis sought work in 52 countries.

About 62 percent of 15- to 24-year-olds want to leave the country, but this desire decreases with age.
