Senior Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani, who passed away yesterday, has been buried last night under tight security.

This was stated by a foreign news agency in its report which said that only neighbors and close relatives were allowed to attend the funeral and burial of Syed Ali Gilani.

According to Indian media, Indian forces also sealed off the cemetery in the Haiderpura area where Syed Ali Gilani was buried.

A relative of the late Syed Ali Gilani said that Syed Ali Gilani was buried in the cemetery of Haiderpura at 4.30 am.

It should be noted that senior Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani died in Indian custody yesterday.

He was 92 years old and had been under house arrest by the Indian Army for 12 years.

Syed Ali Gilani was a staunch opponent of the Indian occupation of Kashmir and was aware of the right of Kashmiris to self-determination.

In Pakistan, the national flag will be hoisted on the death of Syed Ali Gilani and a day of official mourning will be observed in his memory.

President Dr. Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Sirajul Haq, Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, and other Hurriyat leaders and other leaders of Pakistan on the death of Syed Ali Gilani give condolence.
