The US dollar depreciated against the Pakistani rupee on Thursday in the local currency markets, down 14 paise in the interbank market and 20 paise in the open market.

According to the Forex Association of Pakistan, the buying rate of the dollar against the rupee fell by 14 paise to Rs 160.12 from Rs 160.26 and the selling price fell by 13 paise to Rs 160.18 from Rs 160.31 in the open market. The buying price of 20 paise was reduced from Rs 160.20 to Rs 160 and the selling price was reduced from Rs 160.50 to Rs 160.30.

In other currencies, the euro increased by 10 paise from Rs 193.90 to Rs 194 and the selling price increased from Rs 195 to Rs 195.80, while the buying rate of the British pound increased by Rs 1 from Rs 214.50 to Rs 215.50 and the selling price increased from Rs 216 to Rs 217. 50 rupees.
