The European Union’s aviation safety agency has refused to lift restrictions on the PIA.

According to details, the European Aviation Authority (EIA) denied permission to PIA to fly without a safety audit from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). PIA sought interim permission from AISA for flights. In response, a letter was received from the European Union Air Safety Agency stating that the ban was being extended for another three months and would not be reviewed until the Civil Aviation Authority’s safety audit.

It may be recalled that Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan had said that the EU’s concerns regarding PIA have been allayed but now news has come that the EU Aviation Safety Agency has refused to lift the ban on the national airline. On the other hand, the national airline PIA has introduced a winter special offer for the convenience of passengers in winter.

In this regard, PIA sources said that PIA has announced a great facility for the passengers traveling in the country and has introduced a winter special offer. PIA has decided to operate 21 additional domestic flights. The said additional flights will be operated till 31 December.

A PIA spokesperson said that these flights will be operated between Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, with a one-way fare of Rs 7,800 between Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. The return ticket between Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad will be Rs 15,600.
