NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen has said that Afghanistan’s security situation is critical and that NATO members fully support efforts to rejuvenate the peace process.

Stoltenberg says the two-day foreign ministers’ meeting in Brussels starting today will also discuss the situation in Afghanistan and NATO forces’ presence.

“There is no easy choice in Afghanistan, all options are open for now, the security situation is difficult, NATO will take all necessary steps to keep the army safe,” he said.

He further said that all parties need to work together for progress in the peace process, reduce violence, dialogue in good faith, and constructive participation of the regional and international community is also required for the peace process.
