The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan faces EU sanctions over its escalating war with Greece and Cyprus.
Turkey sent a hydrocarbon research vessel with a naval convoy into Greece’s territorial waters last month, and Greece also responded with naval exercises to defend its territory against Turkey.
The tension has increased the risk of conflict in the area between both countries as Erdogan pursues increasingly aggressively nationalist policies.
Now the EU warned Erdogan to solve its conflict with Greece; otherwise, it could face sanctions from the EU.
The European Council meeting is on September 24 to discuss the ongoing conflict and issues between Turkey and Greece.
