Turkey launches first export cargo train for China
The train will cover a distance of 8,693 km in 12 days. During the journey, the train will pass through the border areas of two continents and five countries.
The train will enter the Caspian Sea via Georgia and then travel further, said the director-general of the Turkish Railways.
He said the 10-coach train would reach the Chinese capital, Beijing.
Minister of Railways Adil and Chinese diplomats were also present at the Istanbul station on the historic occasion.
