On Friday at least two children died and the other 22 get injured which including four teachers in Jehlum when strong winds tumbledown the wall of a private school to collapse on stage during Mehfil-e-Milaad, reported to The Tribune Express.
The rescue operation was launched immediately; nevertheless, two children breathe their last on the spot while the injured were carried to district headquarters hospital Jhelum, where an emergency was declared.
The operation was later completed by the rescue team removing the wreckage.
The Milad stage had been erected next to the damaged wall, which resulted in the disaster, according to District Education Authority Chief Executive Officer Maroof Chaudhry.
He conveyed his sympathies to the parents who had lost their children. Junaid Ahmed, 15, and Ali Ahmed, 15.
