Pakistan and the UAE have agreed to expand flight operations between the two countries to enhance connectivity and strengthen bilateral relations.

According to Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, the agreement was finalized this week following discussions with UAE authorities on introducing more affordable airline options.

As part of the expansion, Pakistan’s AirSial will operate flights from three cities to Abu Dhabi, while Wizz Air will launch services between Abu Dhabi and two Pakistani cities.

These new routes are expected to start within the next two to three months, with airlines set to announce schedules and routes soon.

Currently, eight airlines including Emirates, Etihad Airways, flydubai, PIA, Fly Jinnah, Air Arabia, Serene Air, and Air Blue, operate flights between the two countries.

Officials emphasize that the agreement is not just about increasing flights but also about boosting trade, investment, and cultural ties.

The development coincides with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s upcoming visit to the UAE in February for the World Government Summit, where further discussions on economic cooperation, trade, and employment opportunities are expected.
