In Rawalpindi, two women who were working in the fields were shot dead, the police started an investigation after collecting forensic evidence.
According to Express News, 30-year-old Masmata Sadia and 25-year-old Ismat Shaheen, residents of Azari Awan area of Rawalpindi, were busy working in the fields when Naseer, Idris, Sughra and an unknown accused came there armed and opened fire killing both of them. They escaped.
As soon as the information was received, the police and rescue 1122 personnel reached the spot and took the dead bodies into custody, collected the forensic evidence and shifted the deceased to the hospital for post-mortem.
CPO Rawalpindi Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari took notice of the incident and asked for a report from the SP President, SP President Zanir Ahmad Cheema himself reached the scene and reviewed the investigation process.
The police spokesman said that according to the initial reports, the accused killed the women by shooting due to previous enmity. The accused involved will be arrested and brought to justice.
IG Punjab Faisal Shahkar says that the supervisory officers should keep close contact with the families of the victims, justice should be ensured on a priority basis.
