Following the meeting of President Trump and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Khadimi at the White House, Trump gave another green light. In a talk to reporters, Trump said “We have been taking our troops out of Iraq fairly rapidly, and we look forward to the day when we don’t have to be there. We’ll be leaving shortly”
President Trump has repeatedly shown frustration with US overseas deployment. Roughly 5,000 troops are stationed in Iraq to support Iraqi forces against ISIS.
