The increasing cost of travel and visas has made it difficult for many to perform Umrah, especially during Ramadan. With prices soaring, countless aspiring pilgrims are struggling to afford the sacred journey.
Many individuals who had saved money for Umrah are now finding the expenses far beyond their reach. Just a few months ago, travel packages were significantly cheaper, but now the cost has surged past Rs. 350,000, leaving many unable to proceed with their plans.
Travel agencies have also reported a sharp decline in bookings, with fewer people able to manage the rising costs. Some agents estimate a nearly 50% drop in Umrah travel due to inflation.
They have urged the government to introduce measures that could ease the financial burden on pilgrims.
For many, performing Umrah is a lifelong dream, but the sharp rise in expenses has turned it into an unattainable goal. With increasing costs for visas, accommodation, and flights, many who had hoped to embark on the spiritual journey this Ramadan are left disappointed.
