The disputed territory of Nagorno-Karabakh has once again become a battleground for the armies of Azerbaijan and Armenia. Shelling continues from both sides, in which dozens of personnel have been killed.
According to the international news agency, a fierce clash between the armies of Azerbaijan and Armenia continues in Nagorno-Karabakh. This is the biggest fighting since the 2020 ceasefire and the withdrawal of Armenia.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Defense of Armenia alleged that Azerbaijan attacked Nagorno-Karabakh with artillery and firearms. Apart from this, they also shelled the Armenian military bases in the cities of Gores, Sotuk, and Jarmuk.
Azerbaijan, on the other hand, has accused the Armenian forces of laying a large number of landmines and stockpiling weapons near the border districts of Dashkisan, Kilbazar, and Lashin.
Conflicting reports are also coming out regarding the deaths. More than 40 soldiers of Armenia were reported killed while more than 10 soldiers of Azerbaijan were also killed.
It should be noted that in October 2020, after more than 300 people were killed in a month-long war, a ceasefire between Armenia and Azerbaijan was brokered by Russia and Armenia withdrew its troops from most areas.
