Riyadh: Saudi Arabia’s Committee for Hajj and Umrah has announced that in the second phase starting October 18, 2.5 lacs local pilgrims will be allowed to perform Umrah.

According to Saudi media, after October 4, the ban on performing Umrah has been lifted in stages. in which only 6,000 local pilgrims could perform Umrah, but now the second phase is starting from October 18, in which more than 200,000 Local pilgrims will be allowed to perform Umrah.

In this regard, Hani Al-Omari, a member of the National Committee for Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia, said that in the second phase on October 18. In addition to two and a half lac worshipers, more than 600,000 worshipers will be allowed to pray in the Grand Mosque.

Hani Al-Omari further said that for the second phase, apart from the Holy Shrine in Masjid Nabavi, the old part of Masjid Nabavi will also be opened. Earlier, from May 31, prayers were allowed only in the courtyard of the Prophet’s Mosque.

It should be noted that from November 1, in the third phase. Foreign pilgrims will also be allowed to perform Umrah and attend Roza Sharif. However, it is not clear how many countries will be allowed for Umrah.
