As per statement released by US Navy, Aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan conducted exercises in the South China Sea on Friday. A strike group under the command of USS Ronald Reagan took part in flight operations and high-end maritime stability operation and exercises. The drills are part of US response to recent Chinese actions in South-China sea. meanwhile, China has firmly objected to such exercises in its claimed sea territory. Experts believe that increase in maritime exercises by both China and US makes situation in South China sea more challenging. Any further steps in this direction can trigger a conflict among both powers which can effects the global response to novel corona virus.
