In Pakistan, Navy Day is celebrated every year on September 8 in commemoration of the Indo-Pakistan war of 1965. Pakistan Naval day will always remain as a “Golden Day” in the history of the Pakistan Navy.

8 September 1965 was the day when Pakistan Navy launched its successful strategic operation against Hindustan, codename Operation Dwarka, by the 25th Destroyer Squadron. Operation Dwarka was a naval operation by the Pakistan Navy to attack the Indian coastal town of Dwarka on 7 and 8 September 1965.

It was an operation that was completed in just 4 minutes inside Indian waters (5 nautical miles from their port) – 350 rounds fired by 7 participating vessels of the Pakistan Navy.
This instance was the first engagement by the Pakistan Navy in any of the Indo-Pakistan Wars.
Celebrating this day is to pay tribute to the Pakistan Navy personnel – Their courage, determination, professionalism competence, dedication, and coordination to defeat rival enemies who were bigger in number and resources than the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The day reminds us of the courage and gallantry of the Men in Whites whose bold and brave undertakings took the enemy by surprise and smashed his misplaced perception of supremacy – Pakistan Navy Day also provides us with a Golden chance to remember our heroes and to ensure the fulfillment of the promise that we’ll never forget sacrifices of our Heroes for the homeland – Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
