Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Vladimirovich Mishustin is expected to visit Islamabad on October 14 to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of State meeting, citing diplomatic sources.
Mishustin will be accompanied by a delegation and a large group of Russian journalists. His visit follows Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk’s two-day trip to Pakistan on September 18, signaling increasing diplomatic engagements between the two countries.

During his stay, the Russian Prime Minister is expected to meet with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other senior leaders. A formal dinner will be hosted in his honor and that of his delegation, sources revealed. On the same day, Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang is also scheduled to arrive in Pakistan with a high-level delegation.
To ensure security during the summit, a comprehensive plan was approved by Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi. The plan includes deploying additional personnel from Pakistan Army, Rangers, FC, and Punjab police for the safety of the international guests.
The SCO, which includes major regional powers like China, Russia, India, and Pakistan, is a leading trans-regional economic and security bloc.
