A transgender elected Deputy Prime Minister for the first time

Petra de Sutra, a transgender from the LGM’s Green Party, has been named Deputy Prime Minister. She is the first transgender to become the Deputy Prime Minister of Europe, including Belgium. She is the most senior transgender in politics in Europe. After an incomplete government of the last two years, Belgium has become a coalition government through a new political alliance.

A transgender named Petra de Sutra has been appointed as the country’s Deputy Prime Minister. There will be a total of six Deputy Prime Ministers. Petra de Sutra has also been a member of the European Parliament since July 2019.

According to CNN, no complete government has been formed since the fall of Belgium’s four-party government in December 2018. Deputy Prime Minister-elect Petra de Sutra is a professor of gynecology, an activist for the rights of eunuchs. Petra belongs to the Green Party of Belgium. The Green Party is active in politics throughout Europe, with the Belgian Green Party being the sixth Green Party to form part of the government in Europe.
