Al-Shabab attack killed over a dozen in Somalia’s capital of Mogadishu.

Attack by the Al-Shabab armed group on a high-end beachfront hotel in Mogadishu killed at least 17 people and more than a dozen wounded. On Sunday, attackers stormed the hotel and took it under siege which ended after a three-hour fierce gun battle between terrorists and Somalia’s security forces. Later on, all four assailants were killed by security forces.
According to a statement by Al-Shabab, they carried out the attack and took control over the hotel in the martyrdom-seeking operation. The Al-Shabab meaning “The Youth” is a fundamentalist organization in allegiance to Al-Qaeda operates mostly in eastern Africa. It has a history of carrying out fierce attacks against civilians, security forces, and other government officials.
