He said that the business companies which wanted to invite Turkish actor Engin Altan to Pakistan were being pressured not to do any activity in which Turkish actor could be brought to Pakistan. Irshad Arif said that a powerful Arab ally of Pakistan had expressed its displeasure over why Turkish drama serial is being aired in Pakistan and also expressed concerns over its popularity.

Dr. Moeed Pirzada claimed that diplomatic pressure was being exerted on Pakistan to stop the Turkish actor from visiting Pakistan. In this regard, the issue was also highlighted on an official Twitter handle in Urdu from Turkey that many Arab friends are angry with the airing of Ertugrul drama in Pakistan.
