Ashura Day was celebrated with devotion and respect across the country in memory of the eternal sacrifices of Imam Hussain and his companions. Mourning processions were carried out from city to city and ended at designated places.
Muharram processions were closely monitored and thousands of security personnel were deployed to monitor the processions.
