Astronomers say a planet called Wasp 12b is rapidly approaching its central star and will collide with its star long before our previous estimates. And will cease to exist. It reflects very little light, which is why it is called a “blacker than coal” planet.

Due to some of its bizarre features, it is regularly monitored by experts. Some time ago, scientists discovered that the planet is getting closer and closer to its main star. And about 3.3 million years from now, it will collide with it and disappear forever.

Cornell University astronomers have further corrected earlier estimates in this regard, saying that “Wasp 12B” is moving faster towards its central star. And thus it is “only” 2.9 million years later. It will collide with its own star, 350,000 years earlier than previously thought!

This seems to be a very long time, but on a cosmic scale, even a few million years is considered to be only a few minutes long.
