The good news for the residents of Shar-e-Quaid is that the Karachi Circular Railway is going to be partially restored.
New bogies have been manufactured in Pakistan with the cooperation of China for the rehabilitation of Karachi Circular Railway.

According to officials, the Karachi Circular Railway train will run on the Encroachment Free Track. KCR’s track is 43 km long, of which 37 km track has been cleared.
The Supreme Court had in July ordered the federal and Sindh governments to run the Karachi Circular Railway in any case. Rehabilitation of KCR will help in the flow of traffic in Shar-e-Quaid.
The track of Karachi Circular Railway starts from Drug Road Station and reaches Nazimabad via Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Yasinabad, Sharifabad and Liaquatabad.
The circular railway track passes through Mangho, Site, Baldia Town, Lyari, Mary Weather Tower, City Station, PIDC to Cant Station and then from there to Shahra-e-Faisal, Chanesar Goth, Shaheed Millat and back to Drug Road.
