Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport made headlines for all the wrong reasons on Wednesday when a passenger made the shocking discovery that paper plates were being used at the facility. In a widely shared video, a passenger described how condom packaging material was used to make paper plates that were served to guests at the establishment.
While praising the food’s excellence, the traveler expressed shock that the plates sold to both domestic and foreign travellers had been made from contraceptive-related materials with clear-cut descriptions. Border Health Services acted quickly to seal the food counters of the company in charge of the poor management as the video circulated on social media.
Director of Border Health Services Dr. Murtaza Shah said that this action was taken according to the instructions of the provincial health minister. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Airport Manager has also been accused of negligence in this matter.
On the other hand, according to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the company’s food counters at domestic and international terminals have been sealed, and penalties have also been imposed.
According to sources with knowledge of the development, identical plates were being used to serve both domestic and foreign passengers before someone posted a video that prompted the CAA to take action.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the Civil Aviation Authority says that all the counters in the company’s domestic and international satellite area using paper plates with objectionable writing at Jinnah International Airport have been sealed and a heavy fine has been imposed.
