Quetta Model Court Judge Dost Mohammad Khan Mandokhel, while hearing the murder of a traffic official, acquitted former MPA Majeed Khan Achakzai, who appeared in the court, based on lack of evidence.
It may be recalled that in 2017, Traffic Sergeant Ataullah Khan was performing his duties at GPO Chowk, Quetta, when a vehicle coming from behind crushed him. Traffic Sergeant Ataullah Khan was seriously injured in the collision and was rushed to a hospital. They transferred but died during treatment.
When the CCTV footage of the accident came to light, it was learned that the vehicle which hit Traffic Sergeant Ataullah Khan belonged to Majeed Khan Achakzai, a member of Pashtunkhwa MPA Balochistan Assembly, on whom a murder case was registered against him.
