The Election Commission of Pakistan has announced the date of the postponed general elections in Gilgit-Baltistan. According to the Election Commission, the general elections in Gilgit-Baltistan will be held on November 15, 2020. Prime Minister Imran Khan has sent a summary to President Arif Alvi regarding the final date of general elections in Gilgit-Baltistan, which has been formally approved by President Arif Alvi.
Earlier, polling for the Gilgit-Baltistan general election was scheduled for August 18, but due to Muharram and other issues, the polling date was postponed. On the other hand, after the announcement of the final date of general elections in Gilgit-Baltistan, the opposition has also demanded holding clean and transparent elections.
