During an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Mir Ali region of North Waziristan tribal district, four Pakistan Army personnel accepted death in an exchange of fire with terrorists, Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR) released a statement.
According to ISPR, the Pak army conducted an IBO on the reported presence of militants in the region.
During the operation, the terrorists and the military engaged in a fierce gunbattle, which resulted in the martyrdom of four servicemen. Havaldar Munawar, Sepoy Zaka Ullah, Sepoy Farhan, and Sepoy Sheraz were among the martyred soldiers.
Meanwhile, security forces carried out another operation in the Tank region in response to information of terrorists in the area.
Two terrorists were killed during the operation, subsequently identified as Shahzeb alias Zakir and Daniyal. During the operation, the forces also recovered weaponry.
The ISPR statement claimed, “These terrorists were involved in several terror actions, including assaults against security forces, targeted assassinations, and kidnapping for ransom.”
