ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has condemned the targeted killing of Maulana Adil.
In his statement, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that India wanted to create Shia-Sunni sectarian strife in Pakistan by killing clerics. “My government knows this, and I have said it many times on TV. In the last three months, India has made several attempts to assassinate Sunni and Shia clerics to provoke sectarian riots in Pakistan. He said In a statement released on the social networking site, the Prime Minister said, “We have thwarted many such attempts in the last few months, and our intelligence agencies and law enforcement agencies will also bring those responsible to justice.” The Prime Minister appealed to the practitioners of all schools of thought to ensure that the people do not fall prey to this Indian conspiracy to destabilize Pakistan.

It may be recalled that Maulana Dr Adil Khan, son of the late Maulana Saleemullah Khan, former head of the Federation of Madrassas and superintendent of Jamia Farooqia, and his driver have been martyred in the assassination attempt. According to police, Maulana Dr Adil Khan Vigo was present in Shah Faisal Colony No. 2 in his car when the accused on a motorcycle allegedly opened fire on his car.
