Traffic police issued an alternative traffic plan on the occasion of the ninth Muharram procession in Islamabad.
According to the traffic plan, various highways and intersections in the federal capital will remain closed from 8 am till the end of the procession.
Fazal-ul-Haq Road from Kulsoom Plaza to China Chowk is closed for all kinds of traffic while Seventh Avenue from Kulsoom Plaza to Chand Tara Chowk is closed for normal traffic.
Post Office Service Road, Saddar Road from Iqbal Hall to Melody Chowk will remain closed while Municipal Road from Lal Masjid to Shuhada Chowk GPO and from Polyclinic to Iqbal Hall will remain closed.
Traffic police said that those going from Kulsoom Plaza to China Chowk can use Jinnah Avenue while those going to Seventh Avenue, Aabpara Suhrawardy Road, Shaheed Millat Road can use Jinnah Avenue.
