Islamabad High Court has suspended Chairman PTV Naeem Bukhari. The Islamabad High Court heard a petition against the appointment of Naeem Bukhari as chairman PTV. During the hearing, the Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court asked the Ministry of Information representative whether the government had relaxed the age limit. The representative replied that the age limit had been relaxed. The Chief Justice then asked why he had written the reason for easing the age limit. The correspondent said that we have written that Naeem Bukhari is fit for the post. He has a lot of experience and sent a summary on November 13 and another on November 26.
The Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court remarked that neither the cabinet decided on age relaxation nor sent the correct summary. You did not read the relevant portion of the Supreme Court decision while sending the summary. Will embarrass the cabinet.
The court said that the Ministry of Information is not authorized to appoint the chairman of PTV. The Supreme Court has written that the federal government cannot appoint anyone as chairman. It is a different matter whether they get paid or not. He himself appointed Naeem Bukhari as chairman and sent a summary to the cabinet.
