The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government while continuing its trend has once again failed to utilize 90 percent of its Annual Development Budget (ADP) in the current Fiscal Year 2020-21.
According to the official documents, a total of Rs 44.57 billion were allocated for the development works, however, the Finance Department released only Rs 4.97 billion out of which Rs 4.69 were spent.
According to many political and administrative experts, the reason behind the trend of non-utilization of ADP was the absence of the Local Government system in the province.
Many experts believe that the KP government should hold the LG elections in the province as soon as possible. Otherwise, the pace of development in the province will continue to remain sluggish.
