Maryam Nawaz, daughter of PML-N vice president and former prime minister Mian Nawaz Sharif, has called on Maulana Fazlur Rehman, leader of the opposition Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) in Islamabad.
According to sources, during the meeting, the two leaders also discussed the decisions to be taken at the PDM meeting, preparations for the long march, modalities, and duration.
Sources said that the two agreed that all the proposals related to Long March would be considered in the steering committee and a final decision would be taken.
Sources said that during the meeting, it was suggested to make the first stop at Faizabad when the long march reached Islamabad.
The sources added that Maryam Nawaz and Maulana Fazlur Rehman also discussed strategies to ensure the success of joint candidates in the Senate elections.
Sources also said that the PML-N vice-president and the PDM chief also considered whether the no-confidence motion should be brought from Punjab or Balochistan first, while the PPP’s proposals were also considered.
