Former BBC journalist Martin Bashir, who had an explosive interview with the late Lady Diana, has apologized to Prince William and Prince Harry on Sunday.
However, he claimed that it would be inappropriate to link his move to the death of Princess Diana.
In a statement issued from London, Martin Bashir said that the purpose of the interview was not to harm the late Diana.
Earlier on Thursday, a report by John Dyson, a retired senior judge, revealed that Martin Bashir had fabricated a fake bank statement, falsely claiming that Princess Diana’s close aide’s Security guards paid for the princess.
Martin Bashir, 58, showed the bank statement to Princess Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, and persuaded him to meet the princess, gaining her confidence.
Prince William says Martin Bashir’s interview ended his parents’ marital relationship and left his mother in fear, loneliness, and loneliness during the last years of his life.
Prince Harry, meanwhile, said the Dhaka-based move killed his mother.
