Lahore: Maryam Nawaz reached the accountability court and met her uncle Shahbaz Sharif and cousin Hamza Shahbaz to express solidarity. The accountability court in Lahore heard a reference on money laundering and assets in excess of income.
PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif was produced before the court from Kot Lakhpat Jail in an armoured vehicle under tight security. PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz also reached the accountability court to express solidarity with her uncle Shahbaz Sharif and cousin Hamza Shahbaz and met the two leaders
According to party sources, Maryam Nawaz took Shahbaz Sharif into confidence over the current political situation, and also took instructions regarding the Gilgit-Baltistan election campaign. The two leaders also discussed Ayaz Sadiq’s controversial statement. This is the first meeting of Maryam Nawaz after the arrest of Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz.
In court, the NAB prosecution provided copies of the statements of the four promised witnesses against Shahbaz Sharif. The court provided copies to the lawyers of Shahbaz Sharif and other accused. Replying to a journalist’s question about bringing the court in an armoured vehicle, Shahbaz Sharif said that it was the height of cruelty, it did not matter.
Shahbaz Sharif also met Ahsan Iqbal and Maryam Aurangzeb in the courtroom in which Shahbaz Sharif was briefed on the current political situation.
The court immediately summoned SP Security to solve the problems of the people due to roadblocks and tight security in high profile cases. The hearing was adjourned for some time.
